Here’s how the North Koreans conquer America in Homeland: The Revolution
If you’re interested in the Homefront series but you don’t really buy that the North Koreans could take over the good ol’ US of mother flippin’ A, Dambusters Studios and Deep Silver put together the live-action cinematic trailer below, highlighting exactly how it could happen.
The criticisms about this series are kind of weird. For as many problems as the first game had – ranging from technical to story pacing – one of the most common complaints was the depiction of North Korea dominating America. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea may not have a lot of things like, ya know, consistently running water, state of the art medicine, or food, but it does have a hellaciously big army. With nearly 9.5 million in active and reserve service, the DPRK control the fourth largest military in the world behind China, the US, and India.
The clip below recaps the fictional steps that led to the occupation that began in Homefront. The specific story from that game is seemingly being tossed out in favor of a new setting, protagonist, and plot, but the general setting and events from the first game are probably intact.
You can see how the stage is set in the clip below.
Homefront: The Revolution comes out on May 17 on Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
