Clear your schedule for the day, the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer is here
Following the Star Wars 40th anniversary celebration held earlier this week, Disney and Lucasfilm released the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer unto the masses. And it’s… ok!
The trailer is technically labeled as a teaser. It’s close to two minutes and it doesn’t really show off much or really go into details about the plot, but there’s enough there to let fans absolutely obsess over for weeks to come.
With that said, it doesn’t really offer anything you probably couldn’t have guessed just from The Force Awakens. Rey is training with Luke, there’s at least one space battle, Kylo Ren is pissed, Finn is asleep, etc., etc.
The only real revelation – if you can call it that – is Luke’s final line about ending the Jedi. Naturally, there will be a whole lot more to it than what it first appears to be. Maybe he means that the Jedi as they stand need to end so they can be reborn, or maybe he wants to replace the Jedi with something new. It might also mean that Luke is bitter for whatever reason and really does want to end the Jedi, but Rey will step in and save them.
Lucasfilm also released the new poster on the right. So enjoy, and look for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters on December 15, 2017.
