That one time when Ronda Rousey was on a Japanese game show and beat up three guys

It’s no secret that Japanese shows are weird. Sure, it’s not fair to say they are all weird, but when you frequently have programming where the point is to try not to get killed by vicious animals, it tends to mess with the curve.

Every once in awhile though, there are a few shows that go in a different direction. Instead of terrifying people or embarrassing them by eating what could be a shoe or a table leg, every once in awhile there are some shows that just focus on incredible things. Impossible and occasionally hazardous, but also incredible.

In 2011, MMA champ Ronda Rousey appeared on a Japanese show. She was a coming off of a 2008 bronze medal win in the Beijing Olympics, but she wasn’t near the superstar she has since become. She still managed to beat the crap out of three guys, one after another, and she did so quickly and convincingly.

Prior to the fight, Rousey displayed some of what would become her customary badassness.

“I feel it would be more fair if I fought all three at once, but I still think they’d have no chance,” she said.

Rousey is set to fight Bethie Correia this weekend, and leading up to the event she made headlines for dropping another amazing quote.

“People like to say that my body looks masculine, I’m like listen just because my body wasn’t developed for a purpose other than fucking millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine,” she said during a UFC 190 pre-fight clip. “I think it’s femininely bad-ass as fuck because there isn’t a single muscle in body that isn’t used for a purpose because I’m not a do nothing bitch.”

Check out the clip below. Maybe next time she will fight a crocodile, which would make for the Japanese perfect storm.
