A key detail about Telltale’s ‘Game of Thrones’ has been revealed

Telltale Game of Thrones episodes

This news will either excite you, or make you wonder release an audible “meh,” there’s very little middle ground. According to a tweet captured by Nerdist, Telltale’s Game of Thrones will be six episodes long.

Why is that a big deal, you ask? Well, besides the fact that more is always better when it comes to Telltale’s games, but it also breaks from Telltale’s established format of five episodes. Huzzah!

Yeah, it’s not the most ground breaking news, but it does give us a clearer picture of the game, which is coming at some point later this year.

Recently, a few other details from the game come to us thanks to an interview from Telltale’s SVP of publishing, Steve Allison, speaking to IBTimes UK. We already know that the game will focus on House Forrester, a northern family that serves House Stark. According to Allison, the game will feature five playable characters from House Forrester, and each can alter the course of the family.

Consider this an educated guess, but the odds are your choices will cost the lives of people around you. And given that the game is set in the brutal world of Westeros and beyond, odds are those people will die horrible deaths.

The story is being developed in accordance with Ty Corey Franck, George R.R. Martin’s personal assistant, and it will play out concurrently with the TV series. It will follow the same style of Telltale’s other massively lauded adaptations, The Walking Dead and Fables. It is set for releases on PC, OSX, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Don’t be surprised to see a release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but at the moment there is no confirmation about that.

No word yet on when we may expect the first episode, but it will apparently be “soon” according to the tweet. As soon as the date is revealed, we’ll pass it on.
