Check out Star Wars: Battlefront, and kiss November goodbye

Star Wars Battlefront release date

Electronic Arts and DICE have made no secret of the fact that they are working on a new Star Wars: Battlefront game. In fact, they announced it proudly from the mountaintops as soon as they officially announced that they had the rights to make Star Wars games. Seeing it in action though, that’s something else.

The Star Wars Celebration is currently underway in Los Angeles. It was highlighted yesterday by a trailer for some space based movie, but that was just the headliner. The Celebration had plenty more in the way of reveals, including today’s first look at Star Wars: Battlefront that came complete with a release date of November 17.

The game will carry on the Battlefront legacy, but with a touch of the Battlefield flair thanks to developer DICE. The series will stick to its roots though, carrying on the concept of massive, multi-tiered battles.

Players will fight on foot and in vehicles, shooting it out as a grunt, or taking to the air to fight player controlled vehicles like AT-ATs. It will all be based in the Star Wars universe as well, so expect the appearance of heroes/villains in the battle, including Darth Vader and Boba Fett.

The game will take place on several familiar battlefields taken from the original trilogy, along with a few from the Clone Wars. It will also include maps related to The Force Awakens.

The event also served as a platform to announce the game’s release date. Star Wars: Battlefront will arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 17, 2015. With the movie coming out a month later, that basically means that the end of 2015 – and probably a good chunk of 2016 – will belong to Star Wars. Your life will be dominated by Star Wars, and you’ll be glad for it.

Check out the video below and go ahead and take off a chunk of November now.
