Randy Orton returns with his magical RKOs

Professional wrestler Randy Orton is a sneaky son of a bitch. The 35-year old sports entertainer can be anywhere, waiting, watching. Then when you least suspect it, he will unleash a devastating RKO attack, leaving his victims confused and bruised.

Wrestlers like Orton tend to have a relatively short span of activity. The WWE and rival corporations tend to chew up and spit out their athletes, and while some last longer than others, there is a ticking clock on how long participants can realistically perform. The events may be staged, but that doesn’t stop it from hurting like hell when someone throws you off a 15 foot cage.

Orton is likely on the downward slope of his career. He has been injured in real life several times, and sooner or later there will probably be one awkward fall too many. But thanks to a meme that was introduced sometime in 2014, Orton will have a bit of immortality.

The meme combines Orton and a variety of Internet fails. At this point, there are hundreds of clips, most of which began life on Vine, meaning they are each just a few seconds long. They are everywhere and touch on numerous clips, and somehow they are almost always funny.

Feel free to disagree if you like. Then take a moment to question what happened in your life to make you hate funny things. Those that at some point may have actually been RKO’d by Orton are, however, exempt from this. If someone actually ran up and RKO’d you, it would hurt like a mofo.

Check out one of the newest batches of RKO greats, accumulated by the website VidGeo.

And just for good measure, here is a second collection. (The rocket is a personal fave).
