A poltergeist taunts the Ghost Hunters crew
During a scouting mission to find new locales for the upcoming season of the paranormal show Ghost Hunters, the team in charge of investigating the new locations got exactly what they hoped for. And at the same time, way more than they bargained for.
While checking out the Antrobus Hotel in Amesbury, Wiltshire, England, show member Selena Wright was chatting with her friend Karin Beasant. They were alone for the most part, which makes what happens next even weirder.
The two were sitting quietly when a candle holder suddenly opens. To add to the ambiance, it opens slowly, with a loud creak. A creepy loud creek.
“As the lantern door clicked we all immediately turned and looked at it,” Wright said. “We sat there with our jaws wide open, thinking ‘is this really happening?’ It was so exciting.”
Obviously, shows like Ghost Hunters live for this kind of thing. When it happens during a time when the team is not around and the cameras aren’t supposed to be rolling, that makes it a little wilder.
The team is classifying it as a poltergeist. There is, of course, always a chance that the door opened naturally, possibly because it was resting on an incline of some sort, but the way it opens doesn’t really seem to support that.
Whatever the cause, you can be sure the Ghost Hunters will be all over it. The team was already interested in the Antrobus due to stories that go back centuries, but this kicks it up several notches. There’s a good chance you will see this clip replayed dozens of times on the show, but in the meantime, you can watch it below.
