Our first look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman
Zack Snyder and Geoff Johns just released the first official look at DC and Warner Bros. Aquaman, as portrayed by Jason Momoa (Conan, Game of Thrones). Check it out on the right, then let’s chat.
DC and Warner Bros. have big plans for the character of Aquaman. He will appear in several of the upcoming DC movies, including his own feature film and as part of the Justice League. Before that though, he will make his first appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The image was posted on Geoff John’s Instagram page with only the hastags “#Aquaman #ZackSnyder.” The most obvious meaning behind the “Unite the Seven” tagline is that Aquaman will unite the seven seas, but it could also refer to the Justice League. The team consists of seven members – Aquaman, Batman, Cyborg, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
The solo Aquaman film will also be the seventh film in the lineup of shared DC universe films that officially began with Man of Steel. That’s probably just an interesting coincidence though.
Given that Aquaman will be introduced in Batman v Superman (along with the new Batman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg, at least), we’ll first see him on March 25, 2016. He may then appear in cameos in other DC films, but he will next definitely appear in 2017 in Justice League. The Aquaman film will then debut in 2018, and again in 2019 with Justice League.
