Nick Offerman saves H. Jon Benjamin’s life at Home Depot

Offerman and Benjamin advocate Home Depot

Recently, Lowe’s announced that it was investigating the possibility of replacing some of its customer service staff with robots. HBO’s John Oliver took exception to this, and brought in Nick Offerman, H. Jon Benjamin, and Sarah Baker to point out a few potential follies in this plan.

Oliver highlights the inability of an automated servant to recognize bigger issues, like when a fight over a bathroom fixture is secretly a fight about Asian porn. You know, like you do. To hammer this home, Oliver turned to a few friends to represent Lowe’s competitor, Home Depot.

It begins with the always classy Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, 22 Jump Street) posing as a Home Depot customer service agent, assisting two customers – H. Jon Benjamin (Archer, Bob’s Burgers) and Sarah Baker (The Good Lie, Tammy) – that are in desperate need of assistance. And possibly therapy. Or a divorce lawyer.

Check it out below, and look for more John Oliver on his HBO show, Last Week with John Oliver. As for the others, Offerman will soon be returning for the final season (tiny sob) of Parks and Rec, Benjamin returns to the role of Archer for its sixth season, and Baker appears next year in the film Rock the Kasbah.
