New Star Trek behind the scenes material is coming every day for a year

Behold, new Star Trek behind the scenes material is coming every day for a year

If you are a fan of Star Trek, 2016 is going to be a big year for you. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the franchise, which began on September 8, 1966, and there is a whole lot of stuff on the way to help you celebrate.

Partly to commemorate the anniversary, and partly just because everyone loves big wads of cash, Paramount – the company that owns the rights to Star Trek – has a lot of things planned. To begin with, the third film in the Abrams-ified universe, Star Trek Beyond, is due out on July 22, 2016.

A new series is on the way as well via CBS All Access. It won’t debut until January 2017, but that would still put it in the 50th anniversary window of the original series’ first season.

In the meantime though, for the truly hardcore fans, Rodenberry Entertainment has something special planned.

Each and every day for the rest of the year, Rodenberry Entertainment will release a new piece of behind the scenes content from Star Trek. The nature of the content will change, so one day you may get concept art, the next you may get photos taken between takes during the filming of Star Trek TOS or The Next Generation.

The content isn’t all image based either. There will be private notes Rodenberry wrote, character bios, poetry, and more.

All of the content will never have been seen before by the public.

The release is being grouped under the name “the 366 Project”, and you can keep up with the releases on Facebook and Twitter.
