Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood create a new Radiohead mix
While this one doesn’t meet the requirements to be included on our monthly five albums you may have missed, if you’re looking for some music today, you should check out the 16-minute Radiohead remix below.
The session was created by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood for the Paris Fashion Show. It includes pieces of the songs “Bloom,” “Glass Eyes,” “Motion Picture Soundtrack,” and “Everything in its Right Place.” They aren’t immediately recognizable unless you are a big – a crazy big – Radiohead fan, but it’s still interesting to hear.
In 2016, Radiohead released its ninth studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool. It was consistently listed in several of the most influential “Best Albums” of the Year” list. The band has a little bit of free time at the moment, but it will soon be on the road, touring the U.S. and Europe in support of the album.
The mix was used to help unveil the new collection from Undercover designer Jun Takahashi. It didn’t take long until the mix made it online. According to the designer, the “collection was about the story of a new race living in Utopia.”
You can watch the entire show below. It’s not for the casual fashion fan, but it does create an interesting story told to the backdrop of Radiohead. If you prefer, there is an audio only version, but the sound quality isn’t all that great. So throw on the video below and watch – or don’t. Either way, enjoy.
