‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ looks batsh*t insane in this new trailer
The fourth film in the Mad Max franchise will hit theaters this summer, and judging by the trailer, the film is going to be totally batshit crazy.
You have people tied to the front of cars, women with robotic arms, and guys in weird masks hunting humans. In other words, it looks like the Mad Max we all know and love before the 80s got their stink all over the franchise with Beyond Thunderdome (not a bad movie, but still).
Fury Road marks the first Mad Max film in 30 years. It stars Tom Hardy as Max, and Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, a woman looking to cross the desert. Of course, in the post-apocalyptic future where oil has run out and gasoline is worth killing over, the bulk of Max’s world is desert. A desert covered in devastating storms.
Previous trailers have hinted that the story begins with Max being taken captive by an outlaw gang that thinks he makes a swell hood ornament. He inevitably gets mad and – judging by past films – reluctantly gets involved. He then blows up a whole lot of people.
Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Warm Bodies), Zoe Kravitz (Divergent, After Earth), and Rosie Huntington- Whitley (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) also star. Fury Road is directed by series creator George Miller, who also co-wrote the script.
Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters on May 15, 2015. Mad Max the game is also on the way from Avalanche Studios, the developers behind the Just Cause series. That game doesn’t have a release date quite yet, but the odds are it will be released to coincide with the film.
