John Cleese recaps The Walking Dead for you
If you are on social media, then you probably know that the seventh season of The Walking Dead returned last night. It’s hard to escape it, given that the show is one of the most popular on TV, and given that the sixth season finale ended on a massive cliffhanger with the lives of multiple characters hanging in the balance.
So yeah, its return has garnered some attention from lots people and outlets – including British comedy legend John Cleese.
Cleese appeared on NowTV (in a voice over capacity) to give a brief recap of the previous six seasons of the show in anticipation of the new season. It is delightfully absurd to hear to upbeat Python explain how in the world of The Walking Dead pretty much everyone sucks and nothing good ever happens to anyone.
There’s also a great little nod to show star Andrew Lincoln’s shouting his son’s name. “Carl! Caaarl! Corrrralll!”
Anyway, it’s a nice way to ease back into the horror of The Walking Dead thanks to the soothing tones of Basil Fawlty. Check it out and then if you really want to get depressed watch the seventh season premiere where everyone dies. That’s a guess not a spoiler, but it may not be that far off.
