‘Halo: Nightfall’ unleashes its first full trailer
The next chapter of Halo is almost here. The story continues thanks to Executive Producer Ridley Scott and his Scott Free Productions group who debuted the first trailer for their upcoming series, Halo: Nightfall, which debuted today on Xbox Wire.
Set between Halo 4 and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, Scott’s series Nightfall fills in the gaps between the two games with an original story. The series debuts on November 10 at HaloFest, and will follow online soon after.
Nightfall is produced by Scott and David W. Zucker, and directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. The format is similar to 2012’s Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, which featured episodic releases. But where that series was a prequel to Halo, Nightfall is a continuation.
The story features an offshoot of the Covenant coming into possession of a viral agent that targets only humans. To stop it, a team of soldiers led by Spartan Jameson Locke (played by actor Mike Colter) head back to one of the surviving halo rings. Beyond the general story – which will be considered Halo canon – the show serves as an origin story for Locke, who will return in Halo 5.
To prepare us for Nightfall, 343 Industries and Xbox have released a full trailer. The series will make its debut at the upcoming HaloFest, an event that celebrates all things Halo and celebrates the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One. It will head online soon after.
The collection includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 (a remastered version), Halo 3, and Halo 4. All four games have received improved frame-rates, increased resolution, and lighting upgrades. It will be available on November 11.
For now, check out the trailer and prepare yourself for the next chapter in the Halo story.
