Watch the ‘Halo 5’ multiplayer beta with developer commentary live, today
Beginning today, at 3 pm PST, you can check out a sneak peak at the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer, live on Twtich.
The stream will feature Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez and Andy “Bravo” Dudynsky discussing the game, as professional Halo teams, CLG and Evil Geniuses get to check it out for the first time. The teams will preview the all-new Arena multiplayer, Spartan Abilities, and more. There will also be a bit of commentary from the developers at 343 Industries.
The multiplayer beta will be available to Xbox One owners that purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection, beginning on December 29. It will then run through January 18, 2015. Halo 5: Guardians will then be available at stores at some point during the Fall 2015. If past releases are any indication, look for it in October or December.
“Each week we will feature new content including 7 new maps, 2 new weapons, and new modes, plus a new Competitive Skill Rating (CSR) system,” An Xbox Wire post stated, explaining the beta rollout. “Or sit back and enjoy watching multiplayer matches in the all-new Spectator Mode.”
If you are an “Xbox One Preview” participant, you may have access to the multiplayer already. A handful of Xbox One owners will have already received an email with a downloadable code for the multiplayer. If you did receive it already, you’ll have access to the beta from today through December 21.
There will likely be a few Twitch streams throughout the weekend showing off the beta, then once it kicks off in earnest on the 29th, you should have no problem checking the game out.
