Physics takes a beating in the first ‘Furious 7’ trailer
The first trailer for Furious 7, the seventh film in the Fast and Furious series, has been released. Directed by James Wan, the film hits theaters on April 3, 2015.
The Fast and Furious series has always had a somewhat tenuous relationship with the laws of physics. If anything, the series seems annoyed that they are constrained by them, and if not for physics, small tuner cars would have no issue driving through buildings, people could jump out of a plane with an umbrella for a parachute, and the cast could literally throw bullets instead of shooting them. Stoopid physics.
Thankfully, Furious 7 seems to not only ignore the laws as much as possible, it ups the ante from previous movies in the series.
There are just so many things scientifically problematic with the trailer below, and yet none of that matters. There are a bunch of cars going really, really fast! And ‘splosions! And half nekkid women! How much more do you really need to know?
The film picks up where the sixth left off, with Jason Statham injecting himself into Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. That sets the stage for the seventh movie, as Statham is looking for vengeance against the Furious crew, and the crew is looking for vengeance for their murdered friend. It’s a revenge buffet.
Furious 7 stars Paul Walker in his final role, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and many others. It hits theaters next year.
