‘Far Cry 4’s’ Kyrat is a weird, mean place
Ubisoft’s upcoming first-person shooter Far Cry 4 is still more than a month away, but the publisher and developer is happy to give you a look at what to expect of the violent world of Kyrat that you’ll soon be covering in bullet casings.
The trailer below shows off the locale of the game, the fictional Himalayan region known as Kyrat. Far Cry 4 stars Ajay Ghale, an English-speaking Nepalese native who returns home to spread his mother’s ashes. He soon finds himself in the middle of a civil war, as the people fight the tyrannical warlord, Pagan Min – and lots of shockingly vicious animals that have had enough of your shit.
The game is a spiritual sequel more than a continuation of Far Cry 3, but the trailer shows off a lot of the same gameplay mechanics. You’ll be able to drive throughout Kyrat, sic vicious animals on unsuspecting enemies, and possibly have the odd hallucination. All in a days work for a Far Cry protagonist.
Far Cry 4 debuts on November 18, 2014, on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
