Epic Fart Disrupts Championship Snooker Game
A tense battle between Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan was briefly derailed when a fart from the crowd disrupted the championship snooker game.
Snooker is a game that requires intense concentration. Players face off in an attempt to… well, it’s totally different from traditional billiards in that… ok, so we have no idea how to play snooker, but that’s not the point.
All you really need to know is that snooker is basically just like 8-ball, but fancier. While billiards is the type of game that is right at home in smoke-filled halls and most tables have faint stains on the shoulders from beer or whiskey glasses left on them, snooker is the type of game stereotypical British gentlemen would play while sipping brandy and saying things like “what, what” and “I say, good show.” So it’s not really the type of game you would expect to go viral due to a massive fart.
Actually, scratch that. It’s exactly the type of game you would expect to go viral due to a massive fart, because it is so wildly disruptive.
In 2013, a championship snooker game between Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan was deep into the final… set… frame… match… thing, when it all went off the rails thanks to an extremely loud fart from the crowd. The game stopped, the announcers tried to keep their composure, and the floor bouncer (or whatever her title is) looks like she is ready to release a thousand wasps on whoever did it. Then a few minutes later it happens again.
It has been pointed out, repeatedly, that the fart was probably artificial and may have been generated by a fart machine. If so, it was either a deliberate attempt to throw off Trump (yes, someone tried to disrupt a guy named Trump with a fart – make your own jokes) and break his concentration, or someone in the crowd was hoping to gain a little notoriety as the event was covered on TV. We have no idea what channel covers championship snooker – maybe ESPN the Ocho – but someone did.
To that contingent who insist this was all fake, we would just like to say, just let us have this one. We’ll concede that this video of Santas vs penguins MAY not be completely legit, but just let us have this one.
