Want to know more about Deux Ex: Mankind Divided? Check out this demo
If you are on the fence about Eidos and Square Enix’s rebooted Deus Ex franchise that relaunched with Human Revolution, this clip might help.
The clip below is 25-minutes of alpha gameplay for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It’s the same content that was on display at E3, which means it is the same content that left people so impressed.
It shouldn’t come as any real surprise that the game will build off the gameplay introduced in Human Revolution (which itself was a complete overhaul of the original series). The layout will also be familiar, with multiple pathways through any given area, allowing you to approach an objective however you want.
If you want to stay stealthy, you can find a way to get through as a ghost, completely unseen by enemies. If you want to be a death machine, you have that option. If you want to fall somewhere in between and just kind of mess with enemies, freaking them out along the way, go for it. There will be weapon upgrades and body upgrades that help to tailor the gameplay to your style.
It’s not clear at what point in the game this section of gameplay is taken, but the stats are maxed out specifically for this demo. In your actual playthough, you’ll be much weaker – the clip shows off some of the game’s potential though.
The setting will again be based in a cyberpunk future, and the distinctive baroque visual scheme makes a return. Mankind Divided will be set two years after the last game, when humanity is turning on augmented people. For fans of the original, it will take place 23 years before the original Deus Ex.
Check out the clip, but be warned – there is a minor spoiler beginning at the 18:25 mark. It’s nothing major, but don’t say you weren’t warned.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2016.
