‘The Crew’ closed beta coming to Xbox One and PS4 in November
Ubisoft’s upcoming racer The Crew won’t be out until December, but a handful of people will get a chance to try it out in a closed beta on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The beta will run November 6-10.
In order to gain access, you have two options: First, you can pre-order the game on PS4 or Xbox One. A PC version and an Xbox 360 version are on the way as well, but the beta is for the new gen consoles only.
The second way to gain access is to register on the waiting list at www.thecrewgame.com/beta and hope you are chosen.
The closed beta features two of the five regions that will be available in the full game. Players will be able to cruise around the Midwest and East Coast areas, and compete in events either alone or with others online. Regardless of what you decide, you’ll be immersed in an online world that is always connected.
PvP lobbies will also be available for players to try out the competitive racing side of things, and two of five spec classes will be available to tune: Street and Dirt.
The Crew is a racing MMO, with a massive area to explore and several game modes to try out. According to the developers at Ivory Tower, the digital United States – where the game is set – takes at least 45 minutes to drive across. And if you do try to ride coast to coast, you’ll pass by several other real players going about their business. You may choose to complete much of the story on your own, but you’ll never be alone.
The Crew will be available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on December 2.
