Australian’s love to have sex to the Star Wars Cantina band song
Here’s something you probably didn’t expect to hear today: the top rated song on Spotify’s Australian service under the topic “sexy times,” is the song performed by the cantina band in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
Yeah, that one.
It’s a little tough to know what to make of this. Maybe Australians are just huge Star Wars fans. Maybe they just love the soothing sounds of Mos Eisley. Maybe they are just weird (not that any Americans have any ground to judge “weird” on these days).
Gizmodo had an interesting addition to that story. According to the now-non-canonical Star Wars Expanded Universe, the Mos Eisley band – the one that played as Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi looked for a way off the planet, the band that barely misses a beat when a man-like creature has its arm cut off – is known as the “Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes.” And best yet, they play a style of music known as “jizz music.”
So the top sexy song on Australia’s Spotify is in a genre called jizz music.
Lucas apparently loved the musical interludes too, enough so that when he released the Special Editions and took his first steps onto a very dark road, he bewilderingly added several minutes of musical interlude to Return of the Jedi, answering the demands of none people.
So anyway, if you are looking for a little “bow chicka bow wow” music to help you get in the mood, below is 10 hours of the Cantina band. Enjoy. And just to be on the safe side, you probably shouldn’t listen to it at work. Things could get very adult.
