A skier records himself skiing off a mountain
A skier wearing a GoPro filmed himself skiing off a mountain in Utah. Miraculously, he didn’t kill himself (or even seriously injure anything).
Usually, when someone puts together and releases a GoPro video of themselves doing something unusual, they want it to make them look cool. Realistically, however, the more likely outcome is that the person recording is about to do something that borders on suicidal.
Sure, there are plenty of videos online where people go out and do things like skiing and have a lovely time on tape. Those videos don’t tend to get much attention though. When you accidentally ski off a small cliff, that’s gold.
The clip below is from a Utah skier named Devin Stratton. There’s no great setup you need to know. He was out for a few runs on Wasatch Range in Utah, when he fell off a 150-foot cliff. It all kinda speaks for itself.
Almost miraculously, Devin walked away without a scratch. Plenty of bruises and a lot of broken equipment, including his helmet, but he got up and walked away.
“Turns out I am afraid of heights…,” he said. “Miraculously I didn’t even have a bruise! I did break a lot of gear including my helmet. Thanks to Matt for helping me dig for nearly 5 hours I found my lost ski and skied down.”
